REVIEW AND LINK//5.11 THE BROS GO NUTS

PUDDING!!

I honestly had a laugh fit when I saw that scene. MOST FAVORITE SCENE IN IT! I knew they were going to act crazy to not look suspicious, but I didn't think that Dean would take it that far. Not that I'm complaining. . . ;)

Anyhoot,

I really LOVED this episode! Who would have thought that an episode about being crazy could be that good and enjoyable? I think most of the fans who saw the episode promo were all thinking the same thing as me, that this episode was going to be about them fighting their ~inner~ demons. Well yeah, there was some of that, but it wasn't all of it. It looked very angsty from the promo and the fact that it was still light and had lots of humorous moments speaks much about the writers still having the knack to give us a rollercoaster ride of emotion.

PS : Drunk!Sammy is almost better than Evil!Sammy ! Too cute I cannot even.

And in return, it also gave our bbs Jensen and Jared a chance to show their acting range. I mean, pssh, we already knew that they had the chops for a while now but this just proves our point. I really don't know much about acting and shiz, but I think that trying to act crazy is actually not a piece of cake as some would assume. The scene where Sam is imagining that he's getting hoarded by a group of people telling him it's all his fault and they show Jared literally throwing punches around into thin air? If Jared didn't have the skills it would have come out looking awkward or overdone. But since he does have the skills, it turned out looking like he was really losing his mind without it looking rediculous.

And for Jensen I love how in one scene he's still in his crazy state and trying to fight the Wraeth, but then in the next scenes he's back to the reguler tough-man Dean and telling his little bro that everything's okay. Very versatile.

I wasn't expecting the doctor to be the Wraeth. At first I was, since it seemed like the logical choice because the doc kept insisting to the patients that there was no such thing as monsters and acting all shady and what not. And then I remembered,

THIS IS SUPERNATURAL, HELLOOOOO

Beloved Show ain't gonna go for the obvious. So it kinda wasn't a shock that it turned out to be the nurse. In fact I liked the nurse. She was. . . .pleasantly annoying? I don't know how to explain it. Twas a shame that she turned out to be Sam and Dean's hunting prey. And the bit where Dean cracks her hand-nail thing into half? GROSS-OUT MUCH *yuck*

They got me with the pretty lady doctor. Her turning out to be an illussion of Dean's crazy-poisoned mind. Didn't see that coming AT. ALL. When Dean was yelling at her because she was saying all those nasty things about him I was thinking that she was going to be the monster instead. She didn't even exist.

And I felt sorry for Martin. I wish he would have escaped together with them :( But yeah, I guess thats where he wanted to be.

Okay, that's pretty much my rant for this episode.

GAMBLE ON "THE FUTURE"

TVGuideMagazine recently got an interview with Supernatural executive producer, Sera Gamble, who shares a lot about upcoming episodes.

It's pretty much a lot of what we've already discovered in past spoilers, but she gives us more insight into the 13th episode "Back to the Future II", which she says is gonna be a heartwrencher!

TVGuide : On February 4, you’re doing a “Back to the Future” episode when Sam and Dean time travel to 1978. What are they attempting to do?

Gamble : Sam and Dean go back to try to save their mom and dad—from a threat that also travels back in time from 2020—Terminator style.What are the consequences if they don’t succeed—or they do?If the baddie succeeds, Mary and John [Amy Gumenick and Matthew Cohen, above] will be murdered—and Sam and Dean will never be born. So, you could say the stakes are pretty high for the guys.

TVGuide : Is it a heartbreaker?

Gamble : Definitely. Sam seeing his parents is heart-wrenching—particularly his mom, because she died when he was just a baby. When he first meets her, he’s so overwhelmed he can’t even speak. But I think the most heartbreaking story is Mary’s. She’s done everything she can to leave hunting behind and have a normal life with John. But as the episode unfolds, we see her realize she can never escape.

TVGuide : For Valentine’s Day you have “My Bloody Valentine,” airing February 11, with a Cupid. This being Supernatural, what kind of havoc does he or she create?

Gamble : Well, for starters, he shows up stark naked and gunning for hugs! Sam and Dean are investigating a series of gory murder/suicides—all people who were desperately in love. They suspect the culprit may be the supernatural being who made the matches to begin with—a Cupid gone rogue. So they capture and interrogate him. All I can say is, he is a very loving dude. It's hilarious.

TVGuide : What else can we look forward to before your Olympic break?

Gamble : Anna [Julie McNiven], the fallen angel, will make a reappearance. You’ll find out what happened after Castiel [Misha Collins] turned her in last season.

TVGuide : How is the Apocalypse storyline advanced? Do any more harbingers of doom appear?
Gamble : The Horsemen are active in upcoming episodes—you'll meet Famine, and find out some of what Death has been doing since Lucifer [Mark Pellegrino] raised him. Other upcoming episodes will also touch on events and creatures from the Book of Revelation. One involves the dead rising—in the form of zombies who seem so benign and reasonable that Dean and Sam are torn: They’re technically monsters, but are they a problem that needs to be solved?

TVGuide : Anything else you can tease?

Gamble : The search for God will soon yield a solid lead. The Archangel Michael will be introduced. We will answer the question, “What does Castiel act like when he's drunk off his ass?” And the brothers will go to Heaven. Yes, actual Heaven.

Before this interview, I didn't even stop and think about how huge a deal this is for the boys, especially Sammy who can finally meet his mother. With Jared's sad puppydog eyes, this one is definitely going to have its heartache moments ;(

And I've been wondering about Death! Did you spoillovers notice that in all the spoilers that have come out, there hasn't been a trace of Death? And he/she ~ SO HOPING IT'S A SHE! ~ rising was the last we saw of a Beloved Show episode. Death is certainly the one to look out for, seems like the lead Horseman.

Yeah, I know we're in the middle of an Apocalypse, but I miss the Monster of the Week format. It doesn't hurt to take a break from all the angsty vibe caused by the end of the world.

FROM DOCTOR TO PASTOR ON BELOVED SHOW?

"Just got booked on an episode of Supernatural called '99 Problems'- not a huge part. Will let you know more details as they come in."

That just in from Michael Shanks via his official website, the Stargate series actor better known there as Dr. Daniel Jackson.

Hmm. . . .judging by the episode's casting call, I'm thinking this doctor might be swapping jobs from doctor to becoming our Pastor Gideon!

But he says it's "not a huge part". And isn't the boot-wearing Pastor kind of a huge part? Except if the focus of the storyline is more on his daughter, Abby. .

So, yeah, the speculation continues.

Will be updating when we know exactly what his part will be!

UPDATE 24/01 '10 : Shanks is reported to be playing a character named Rob, one of the local militia guys who bears a wife and son but then devotes himself solely to a cause because of a lose. That certain cause is still up in wraps.

Will this Rob guy be helping the bros in their quest, or maybe even otherwise?

SAM AND DEAN CHECK INTO A MENTAL HOSPITAL. A former hunter named Martin (guest star), who is currently institutionalized, calls Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) for help investigating a case in the mental hospital. The brothers get themselves admitted as patients to check out the mysterious monster that is attacking the patients, but their incarceration pushes both to the breaking point as they unleash their inner demons against each other.

Sources say that our bb Jared is the 3rd actor in running to star in the remake of the movie "Conan the Barbarian".

Bobby. is. stunned

The movie is scheduled to start shooting on March 15 in Bulgaria.

The other two hollywood hunks in the running are Kellan Lutz ~ Twilight's vampire, Emmet ~ and Jason Momoa ~ the Ronon dude in the TV series Stargate ~.

Oh, and fyi for those who don't know, this is what "Conan the Barbarian" is.

Don't know about you guys but I am so hoping that Jared does NOT get this role.


Then again, it depends on how long he would have to be shirtless on screen.
